    About us:

Several years ago during a drought, we decided to sell the kids' cows because it was costing us too much to feed them. At first, we had the idea to breed miniature horses. While at a parade in May of 2004, we ran into a family friend with a dachshund puppy and fell in love with it. We told her to let us know when she had a litter. Months later, we ran into her at Walmart. She said she had a litter that was an accident. The kids got so excited. We went to see the puppies and immediately one stood out- an adorable, bouncy red girl. We had to have that dog. The first of March 2005, we brought her home. It took us a while to come up with her name, but when "Sassy" was mentioned, we knew we had found it. Over the summer, we purchased 3 more dogs- Sophie, Lexi, and Trigger. At first, we referred to Sophie and Lexi as "The Twins" because they were sisters and looked pretty much alike. The first of December, we got Henry. Shortly after Sophie's first litter of 5 puppies (all boys!) we got our piebald girl Panda. In June, we got 3 more dogs: Blondie, Frappy, and Trixie. Of course, we didn't stop at 9 Dachsies; we had to have more. At the end of summer, we got Bevo, Toodles, and Woody. Sophie's second litter was born in late October, and we had our first blue and tan! We hadn't ever seen a blue in person (or dog, rather)- we fell in love with her. So, we kept her, and now she's our little Maggie Boo-Boo. We made the more additions to our mini Dachshund family in early march of 2007 when we came home with Queenie and Honey.
Our puppies come pre-spoiled from our home in Vernon, Texas. We start shots at 6 weeks with our veterinarian. We don't let our puppies go to new homes until they are 7 or 8 weeks old due to the small size of the breed..
